the summer's gone.......

Wow! can hardly believe it's sept 1st today, first september since i was 5 that doesn't involve a "back - to- school" shopping trip coupled with a return to class :( perhaps i'll go out and purchase a new outfit anyways, just for nostalgia's sake!
the sun is out today ushering in september and it feels like the world is ready for fall, the turning of the leaves, and some time for change. the salmon are making their way up stream against a strong current and incredible odds...through this, nature offers a glimpse of how possible it is to overcome setbacks and reach a goal. the leaves are beginning to show slight changes in colour at their edges, yet still long for the hydration they didnt' recieve this year. The crazy summer heat tipped the balance and affords us an opportunity to see how delicate that balance really is, both in the natural world and within ourselves. with the beginning of this new season, i must try to find that balance in my own life, so that i too don't begin to dry up and shrivel at the edges.
